Stop Doing It is a free, stand-alone CPD module designed to help schools reduce unnecessary teacher workload.
Staff use the simple KEEP | SIMPLIFY | SHARE | AUTOMATE | STOP framework to examine familiar school tasks, question routines that may have outlived their purpose, and identify practical ways to save time without reducing what matters for pupils.
The editable PowerPoint contains everything needed to run a 45–60 minute INSET session, including:
- facilitator notes and running order;
- group discussion activities;
- printable task cards and blank school-specific cards;
- the Stop Doing It Board;
- workload Post-it activity;
- personal action-planning sheet.
It can be used on its own or as part of the Lazy Teacher CPD: Reducing Teacher Workload series.
The aim is not to avoid worthwhile work. It is to make sure worthwhile work survives.
