Being a Lazy Teacher
Being a Lazy Teacher means putting effort where it matters most. It means creating routines instead of constantly firefighting. It means helping pupils become less dependent on the teacher. It means giving feedback that leads to action rather than simply producing more marking. It means refusing to reinvent something that already works.
Sometimes the smartest professional decision is not to do more.
It is to stop doing something. Or simplify it. Or let the pupils do it. Or share the workload.
The Lazy Teacher is therefore not a teacher who cares less. Quite the opposite.
The Lazy Teacher cares enough about teaching to stop wasting time on things that make little difference.
